There a couple of times to buy a new home to get greatest savings. One time is during a builder’s fiscal year end and the other time is the holidays.
During the holidays, the shift is typically is to spend time with family, eat great food and yummy left overs, and to ring in the New Year for most. Many however do not consider the benefits of buying a home at this time of year. However builders start to see things slow down and their inventory needs to be moved still. What that means to you is that there are many price reductions on existing inventory, huge buyer incentives, and bonus giveaways.
In one example last year, I helped my client buy a home with a builder in Leander. She saved over $12K off the price the home and received a Pottery Barn Gift Card for $2500! This year there are similar deals.
The key is you have to know where and who is offering these deals. Also you do not want to take on this task alone. There are many things that can be negotiated and a lot of things a professional Realtor like myself can guide and assist you with that can save you money and make the process easy.
If you are not ready to move because you have a house to sell, building is also and option where you can still save. While your new house is being built your house can be placed on the market.
